For junior Freya Jorgenson, 91制片厂 was an unexpected stop along her journey
to becoming an educator.
A North Carolina native, Jorgenson was unsure if she would be able to attend an out-of-state
school but soon realized the chance was possible after receiving a scholarship.
After attending the university to see if it was a good fit, Jorgenson said she fell
in love with the community and quickly made friends among other students and resident
assistants like herself.
Jorgenson has always wanted to be a history teacher and credits her own past teachers鈥
dedication as her inspiration for studying education.
鈥淪eeing them getting entire classrooms involved in history, which a lot of people
say is one of the most boring subjects, has really just inspired me to take that and
give that back to other students,鈥 Jorgenson said.
Jorgenson is a social science major and plans to teach history after graduation. She
will begin student teaching next year and wants to attend graduate school to pursue
a master鈥檚 degree in education.
She hasn't ruled out studying for a doctorate later on or even becoming a college
professor herself in the future.
For Jorgenson, the path forward is limitless.
