The Master of Occupational Therapy (MOT) program at our main campus campus in 91ÖÆÆ¬³§, Virginia was approved in 2008 by the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia (SCHEV) and initially accredited by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) in 2011. Since that time, additional accreditation actions have been granted by ACOTE. In April of 2019, the MOT program at our Roanoke location (91ÖÆÆ¬³§ University Carilion) was fully accredited by ACOTE and in 2023 the RU MOT program was granted permission to add an OTA to MOT Hybrid Bridge Track with an additional cohort.

Graduates of our MOT program sit for the exam following graduation and after confirmation of meeting all exam eligibility criteria, including successful completion of all level II fieldwork components.
Prospective students who have any criminal or professional records are encouraged to utilize NBCOT's early determination and associated character review in order to determine whether eligibility to take the exam at the end of the program may be in jeopardy. We highly recommend initiating this process before enrollment.

Student Outcomes
Meeting the program’s expected performance outcomes reflects the mastery and application
of the goals of the physical therapy curriculum. Graduates who have met or exceeded
the program’s outcome goals will have met the cognitive, psychomotor, and affective
requirements of the curriculum. These performance outcomes are entry-level level qualifications
for the practice of physical therapy and are required to sit for the national licensure
examination in physical therapy.

Social work regulatory boards require that social work degrees must be obtained from programs of social work that are accredited by the . Both the B.S.W. and M.S.W. at 91ÖÆÆ¬³§ are accredited by CSWE with full accreditation until 2030 and therefore meet the educational requirements to become a licensed social worker in other states. Some states may have requirements beyond the educational requirements in order to be licensed.
